Welcome to Smithology!
Smithology Studio is a custom home décor sewing workroom. We offer custom made pillows, cushions, bed-skirts, and bedspreads. You can bring in your fabric or have it shipped directly to the workroom. Send me an email with any questions or quote requests. (Wholesale price list available.) Or come on by and see me and peruse my selection of up-cycled tote bags.
Our local service area includes the entire state of Colorado! We also can provide service for out of state customers. Ship us your fabric and we ship back a finished product. Need your products shipped directly to the client or storage facility? No problem.
Extraordinary Experiences
I have been sewing since I was 10, creating clothes for my barbies out of the scraps in my mom’s sewing room. For the last eighteen years I have sewed in workrooms for interior designers. Now I have my own workroom which offers custom home décor sewing services. I still haven’t gotten away from my roots of digging through the unwanted scraps and now use these up-cycled materials to make tote bags.
A smith makes some thing by hand. There are lots of people out there who toil day in and day out to bring you well made, heart felt, unique pieces of joy. They are Smiths: Silversmith, Blacksmith, Wood-smith, Goldsmith, Paint-smith, Wordsmith, Seam-smith, Paper-smith, and many more. I am a seam-smith (seamstress) and jewelry-smith. My company celebrates the idea of well made products from local sources (and fair trade products from around the world, after all, fair trade cacao is local to somebody, right). This idea supports growth in neighborhoods and local economies.
I would like to encourage the world to embrace the arts & crafts people and small businesses in your community by giving up on big box stores and buying well made, handcrafted goods. Start small by buying little gifts from local tradespeople. Find out what they can do, so you can save your money for the more expensive items you can’t live without from local artist and tradespeople. Forget the big box store, you will feel better about your self and make a friend in the process.
